Get your life Back in Swing™ with the
Leaders in Non-Surgical Spine Care!
William S. Whyte II, M.D., founder and medical director of Louisiana Pain Physicians, returned to the Shreveport-Bossier community in 2001 with a vision — to develop the first freestanding facility staffed with physicians
fellowship-trained in interventional spine techniques and dedicated to non-surgical spine care.
This vision is now a reality, and in fact, Louisiana Pain Physicians became the only interventional spine practice in the region solely dedicated to the non-surgical treatment of spinal and extremity disorders.
Louisiana Pain Physicians is not a “network” of doctors. We are an independent practice of highly specialized and trained physicians located in one facility. Let us help you get your life Back in Swing™!
William S. Whyte II, M.D. was the first fellowship-trained interventional spine specialist in this region – and is one of less than 400 in the United States. His commitment to bring state-of-the-art medicine to his hometown and to Ark-La-Tex residents has benefited thousands of patients since the year 2001. Referring physicians have come to depend on Dr. Whyte’s precise diagnosis and non-surgical treatment options for their patients.
His role as a regional pioneer is evidenced in his treatment of spinal disc related pain with minimally invasive intradiscal corrective therapies. Dr. Whyte was the first physician in the region to perform the Biacuplasty™ procedure. He was the first physician in the state
to perform the corrective procedure, Nucleoplasty™, and DeKompressor™ for herniated discs in the lumbar spine and the first in the southeast to perform these procedures in the cervical spine. Dr. Whyte was the first interventional spine specialist in the region to perform Spinal
Cord Stimulation. Patients from across the United States and other countries have traveled to Shreveport to be evaluated and treated by Dr. Whyte and his expert staff.
Dr. Whyte has published numerous research articles and was a regional editor for Harvard’s Rehab in Review. He has presented at national and international medical conferences and was elected to the American Society for Interventional Pain Physicians in 2002. His other professional affiliations include the North American Spine Society, the American College of Sports Medicine, the Physiatric Association of the Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, and the Board of Directors for the Louisiana State University Health Science Center (LSUHSC) Foundation. Dr. Whyte was also the recipient of the 1999 Rex Newton Scholastic Achievement Award for Outstanding Research in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has twice been selected as an international medical ambassador by the People to People program.
